A leading food manufacturing company based in Essex who pride themselves on maintaining the highest standards in food safety and quality, are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated team.Role Overview:As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment. You will work alongside a small team including a supervisor/engineering manager and two other engineers. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently at times. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance PPMsAddress and resolve main breakdowns typical in food factories e.g., changing filtersWork on drives/motors and manage the top-up of storesConduct visual inspections for faults, test mechanical parts, isolate problem areas, and take corrective actionEnsure smooth operation of equipment by replacing worn and defective parts Required Skills and Experience: 50:50 TIG welding/machining lathesExperience with conveyor belts, fill wrappers, metal detectors, and refrigeration/chillersBasic knowledge of PLCs, 3-phase and single-phase electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawingsMinimum 2-3 years of relevant experienceApprenticeship qualification is acceptable If you are a skilled maintenance engineer looking for a challenging role in a dynamic food manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you.
