We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who is proficient with Autodesk Inventor to work a 4 day week mon-thurs. for specialist in Vehicle/ Automotive company. This role as Design Engineer will be pivotal in designing and developing new insulation kits customised for both existing and emerging van models. With a focus on precision and clarity, the Technical Engineer will create engineering drawings and instructions to ensure seamless assembly of our products. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who is proficient with Autodesk Inventor to work a 4 day week mon-thurs. for specialist in Vehicle/ Automotive company. This role as Design Engineer will be pivotal in designing and developing new insulation kits customised for both existing and emerging van models. With a focus on precision and clarity, the Technical Engineer will create engineering drawings and instructions to ensure seamless assembly of our products.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop manufacturing instructions for insulated panel kit assemblies in collaboration with the lining and manufacturing teams.Create detailed instructions and test methods for integrating electrical and mechanical systems into refrigerated light commercial vehicle conversions.Research and pioneer the integration of electrified vehicles and battery-powered refrigeration systems, addressing challenges of power consumption and light weighting.Collaborate with the design team, operations, and refrigeration/auto-electrical technicians to implement optimal solutions.Drive projects aimed at enhancing our products, including standardising modular components while upholding quality and regulatory compliance.Assist in assessing and diagnosing warranty claims or quality issues during production or in the field.Manage changes to product Bills of Materials to ensure accuracy and relevance. Experience and Qualifications:Proficiency with CAD systems, ideally Autodesk Inventor and Inventor Vault.Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.HND/Degree in an engineering discipline.
