Financial Controller Department: Finance, Business Support Location: Home based, UK Reports to: CFO Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: (Depending on experience) Role Overview We are seeking a commercially focussed and technically skilled individual to take on the newly created role of Financial Controller within the business. You will work closely with the CFO and a talented Finance Manager to build an insightful and scalable finance function. The ideal candidate will seek to enjoy a broad, hands-on role working with the business on a day to day basis. Key responsibilities: Work with the CFO and executive team to establish more effective processes and controls across all areas of financial operations. Help the development of, and adherence to, the company’s financial & accounting processes and policies to maintain a robust control framework. Lead business budgeting and forecasting to support short, medium and long-term business and cashflow planning in collaboration with all key stakeholders. Review and analyse performance including relevant KPI & metrics reporting. Provide the wider leadership team with support to achieve their objectives and collaborate to deliver business goals Monitor and analyse overall business performance making proactive recommendations; creating mitigation plans as necessary Hold monthly reviews with departmental budget holders to provide insight and hold the team to account for their areas. Ensure statutory compliance for all external reporting requirements including corporation tax, VAT, payroll etc. Lead and manage the annual audit process liaising with external auditors. Play an ad-hoc role in delivering proposals on commercial opportunities.
