As an Adult Social Care Access Officer, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive telephony and electronic front door service, acting as the first point of contact for all adult social care enquiries.Adult Social Care Access Officer About the RoleService Care Solutions are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adult Social Care Access Officer to join Newham Council's adults team. As an Adult Social Care Access Officer, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive telephony and electronic front door service, acting as the first point of contact for all adult social care enquiries. Your role will be to resolve these enquiries, ensuring that the company's vision of a seamless local front door service delivery is achieved.Key Responsibilities Take ownership and responsibility for a wide variety of enquiries received from the public, both over the phone and electronicallyHave exceptional listening and problem-solving skills in order to resolve queries received at first point of contactDeliver excellent customer care standards, maintain a high quality and professional serviceOrganise tasks and workloads independently to meet timescales, demonstrate accountability and seek appropriate management oversight as requiredCommunicate effectively via the telephone, along with the ability to input information into our customer's data system and have experience of updating and retrieving data from IT systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Office including databases Requirements Experience in a health or social care setting and have good time management skills and be able to work in a pressurised environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, be competent with basic IT skills. Be reliable and able to work under pressureA positive, calming and confident approach to our service users, carers and professional colleagues, and team working will also be requiredAbility to type and listen at the same time, while remaining calmAbility to quickly evaluate situations, identify risk, and initiate appropriate actionsKnowledge of the Care Act 2014; and principles relating to Prevention, Resilience and EnablingExperience working with Adult Social Care Contract DetailsThis is a Non-Qualified Role for an initial 3 months with the view of extension.
