Head of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Location: Cheltenham, GL51 0HW (Travel across Gloucestershire will be required) Salary: A GBP 33,437 : A GBP 42,899 per annum Hours: In order to attract the right candidates they are open to a variety of working patterns such as full time, part time, term time only and secondments. Please note in order to fulfil the role the minimum time expectation would be 22.5 hours per week. Our client is a registered charity and has recently received substantial funding to further its work with children with special educational needs and disabilities. There is a huge need in the area to improve opportunities for children with additional needs to access appropriate physical activity opportunities. Our client is looking for someone with a broad array of skills and experience of working with a wide range of children with SEND to lead this area of work across Gloucestershire. The Role * To enhance the physical activity opportunities available to children with SEND through the development and management of a range of engaging and enriching programmes.* To strategically develop the charitys impact, reach and development with regards to SEND.* To be a member of the senior leadership team and contribute to the wider development of the charity.* Lead on the consultation and co:production process to create programmes and interventions which meet the needs of a wide range of SEND children and their families.* Work in partnership with a range of local and national organisations to ensure their offer forms part of a wider strategic vision for improving SEND provision across Gloucestershire. Skills and Qualifications * Passionate about improving lives of children with SEND.* Driven, creative and solution focussed to bring about change for SEND children.* Excellent communication and relationship building skills.* Have an extensive knowledge of children with SEND and their inclusion within physical activity.* An understanding of the current landscape and of the barriers to physical activity children with SEND experience.* An understanding of the coaching and teaching principles required for high quality, inclusive physical activity.* Experience of working with SEND children and their families, such as within a special school or other relevant setting.* Degree level qualification which is relevant to the role.* A sound understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and child protection as well as vulnerable adults Benefits * 6 employer pension contribution* Perkbox membership* Cycle to Work Scheme* 50 off Move More Camps for 2 children of your choice.* Mileage costs covered at 45p per mile* Free uniform* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays* Company laptop and phone If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for this reputable charity, please proceed through the following link to be redirected to their website to complete your application. move:more/get:involved/vacancies/
