The Income Manager will lead the Income Management service, undertaking full line management responsibilities and providing direction to the team. Requirements Previous experience within a similar role, within Income Collection / Arrears Management, preferably within a Housing environment Knowledge of IT processes, including Word and ExcelTeam leadership experienceAppropriate experience of income management and recoverySound knowledge of welfare benefits and money adviceGood communication and negotiation skillsAbility to deal with people in difficult and challenging situationsExperience presenting cases in Court is desirable Role Expectations To lead the Council’s Housing Income Management and Money Advice Service ensuring the service is fully staffed and operationalTo be undertake full line management responsibility for the staff in the Councils Housing Income Management and Money advice Service. providing leadership, direction and motivationResponsible for maximising the Councils housing related income whilst ensuring a sensitive and sympathetic approach to tenants in genuine hardship To deliver an effective debt monitoring and management serviceTo deliver a high quality, effective and confidential Money Advice ServiceTo contribute fully to the delivery of all Housing Services particularly in relation Housing Income ManagementTo contribute fully towards the Council’s Core Objectives and Housing & Building Services PlanUndertake all aspects of income recovery, including: arrears notification and advice to tenants, making agreements for repayment, and monitoring casesWork alongside key partners, internal and externalManage a complex caseload and initiate legal action for debt recoveryAttend Court where necessary and represent the company, as well as coordinate and attend evictions where necessaryLead the team to achieve targets and maximise income If you are interested in this position and meet the above criteria, please send your CV now for consideration.
