We also manufacture and sell related direct current—DC—power products including chargers, electronic power equipment and a wide variety of battery accessories. Our battery products span a broad range of sizes, configurations and electrical capabilities, enabling us to meet a wide variety of customer applications.Job PurposeThis job role acts as a the Project Product Assurance (PA) Manager for all product assurance requirements on assigned space projects throughout the project lifecycle (business development, bid support, design, manufacture, test, and delivery). The Project Product Assurance Manager will work with a dedicated team of colleagues from other disciplines (e.g., Project Management, Project Engineer, MAIT) to produce documentation and hardware for delivery to the customer. The role will be the primary Product Assurance representative to the customer for the assigned project(s). The Project PA Manager may be supported by one or more Project Product Assurance Engineers depending on project size and complexity.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHealth and Safety* The role is accountable for ensuring all work conducted on project or other related tasks is compliant with company health and safety policy Strategy Delivery* The role is responsible for on time and on quality Product Assurance activities delivered directly to the customer * The role is responsible for the prevention, investigation and resolution of non-conformances on assigned projects* The role directly represents Enersys ABSL in customer meetings and reviews Performance and Design* The role supports the CABC team with Product Assurance requirements of new opportunities* The role is responsible for the documented compliance of delivered product to customer specification* The role is responsible for the delivery of documentation to meet customer PA requirements (e.g. NCRs, EIDPs, Inspection Reports)* The role is responsible for the delivery of specialist Product Assurance analysis and documentation (PM&P, EEE, RAMS, Safety)* The role is responsible for chairing internal readiness review meetings (MRR, TRR)* The role is responsible for in-build and in-test inspection points and sign-off of associated reports or checkpoints* The role is responsible for the safety certification and compliance statements for the product* The role is responsible for initial definition of the product baseline (CIDL) for review and input from the project team* The role is responsible for the classification, tracking and logging of changes to the product baseline (via CCBs)* The role is responsible for the notification of baseline changes to the customer (for example, by tracking the status of RfD/RfW)* This role does not have direct responsibility for cost or expenditure, but is expected to support the Project Manager(s) in cost control Programmatic Control of Work on the Project(s)* The role is responsible for schedule adherence of product assurance tasks on the designated project(s)* The role supports the allocation of work across the team (to assigned Product Assurance Engineers)* The role is responsible for product assurance inputs to risk management of the project* The role is responsible for the timely completion of project documentation to the necessary standards held by ABSL Cost Control and Improvement of the Department* The role supports department cost reduction and improvement strategy and implementation* The role supports departmental purchasing requests* Note: The role shall not authorise expenditure on behalf of the business but can request items through their Department ManagerQuality Control* The role is accountable for its knowledge, understanding and application of the Business Management System (BMS) documentation* The role supports Quality Control documentation and monitoring within the department* The role supports Quality Control documentation and monitoring within the function* The role is responsible for non-conformance control on assigned projects* The role supports continuous improvements across the department (from process improvements through to developing new methodologies and techniques of working)Resources* The role is accountable for personal time-management on project tasks* The role is accountable for participating in assigned training for the role* The role is accountable for inputs to Continuous Personal Development targets* The role is accountable for completing weekly time sheets, overtime request and annual leave formsReporting and Communications* The role supports the delivery of Business level Items of Interest (IOIs) each week to the Technical Solutions Manager* The role is responsible for clear communication of technical issues within the project team* The role is responsible for communication of Product Assurance matters to customers (for example, Mandatory Inspection Points, Non-conformances)* The role is responsible for customer chain communications on Product Assurance matters (for example, arranging Non-Conformance Review Boards)Qualifications* A degree in a STEM subject, equivalent qualification or industry experience Knowlege / Experience* Experience delivering PA engineering on spacecraft projects* Experience inspecting and accepting spacecraft hardware* Experience producing technical Product Assurance documentation: Materials, Process, Components and Parts Lists; Hazard Analysis; Reliability and FMECA Reports* A strong knowledge and understanding of European Space Industry standards (ECSS)* An ability to interpret European Space Industry standards (ECSS) and develop compliant solutionsSkills / Competencies* Attention to detail and an ability to present data clearly* A commitment to accurate reporting and root cause analysis of problems* A commitment to product quality and mission risk reduction in accordance with customer specifications* An ability to work in a multi-project environment; to effectively prioritise and work to detailed scheduled plans and tight deadlines* Excellent people skills; a proven team worker but with an ability to work independently* The ability to support team members working on multiple projects* A capability to delegate and monitor progress on tasks for junior PA engineers * A pragmatic, business minded and process driven attitude* Strong skills with MS Office / Office 365 suite of programmes
