This is a great opportunity to implement and develop your skills through helping to deliver a complex capital health project.Solicitor - Hospital InquiryOverviewThe Scottish Hospital Inquiry is seeking a Solicitor to work on a major and high-profile Public Inquiry. This is a great opportunity to implement and develop your skills through helping to deliver a complex capital health project. The successful candidate will gain valuable insight into how they are managed and governed, contractual structures and relationships, and how decisions relating to those projects can impact on the health and well being of the people of Scotland.Main Duties Prepare working papers on lines of enquiry including identifying and recovering evidence. Reading into any recovered evidence to develop the working papers identifying further lines of enquiry questions documents and witnesses.Working with other inquiry team and legal representatives of core participants and others to prepare witness statements.Liaising with Counsel on progress of lines of enquiry and progress of witness statements in preparation for oral hearings.Supporting Counsel and others at the oral hearings, including preparations. Drafting of, and ensuring compliance with, the Inquiry’s procedure/protocol documents. Essential Criteria Experience that demonstrates attention to detail in the provision of clear, fit for purpose, high quality legal advice to agreed deadlines.Scottish qualified Solciitor with a current practising certificateProven track record of working as part of a legal team that demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in problem solving whilst maintaining an approachable manner and constructive attitude.Resilience and motivation to maintain high quality output to agreed deadlines and against competing demands. Competencies People ManagementLeading OthersCommunications and EngagementAnalysis and Use of Evidence Location and SalaryThe post is based in Central Edinburgh, although there may be occasional travel to Glasgow. Whilst adopting a hybrid working approach, the post holder is expected to be in the office at least three days a week. The daily rate for this role is £294 LTD. it is also a 12 month contract.
