Job title: Associate Structural Engineer Salary: Salary: A GBP 48,000 : A GBP 58,000 DoE Location: Exeter Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays Are you an experienced Associate or Senior Structural Engineer, looking for an exciting new opportunity ? Would you like to join a national, award:winning property consultancy delivering high profile, and inspiring developments to a range of public and private sector clients. The Role: We are delighted to be recruiting an Associate Structural Engineer on behalf of our client, to join their team on a full time, permanent. It will be your role to drive and deliver works across the discipline, holding responsibility for the technical and commercial management of major projects, as well as providing inspirational leadership for the team. You will be expected to assist the relevant department Director managing engineering resources and client needs, ensuring all projects are delivered to meet expectations. Duties will include: * Completing planned work programmes and projects to timeframes and with budget.* Managing client needs, defining project technical specifications, manage costs, fees and commercial requirement and ensure that projects are delivered to client satisfaction.* Assisting the relevant director in managing engineering resources across the Structural Engineering team.* Supporting business development activity to enhance, grow and diversify the engineering capabilities.* Managing the implementation of best practice in the Structural Engineering team.* Leading major projects ensuring that they are delivered to the specification.* Preparing designs, calculations, specifications, drawing and carrying out risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment and new building schemes, tendering documents and supervising works to completion including agreeing interim and final accounts.* Preparing schedules of dilapidations, improvement scheme, drawings and specifications, structural surveys, and insurance reinstatement schemes.* Responding to emergency requests for action or advice regarding dangerous buildings. Attending and advising on incidents.* Providing advice to clients in respect of construction and refurbishment projects and actively promote surveying services on a fee:paying basis. The Successful Candidate: * To ensure the continued delivery of our exceptional services, you will be expected to be able to demonstrate a blend of commercial experience, professional training and industry knowledge highlighted by the following;* Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an Structural Engineering related discipline* Professional membership of the Institute of Structural Engineers and be working or prepared to work towards Chartered status* Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain* Conversant with Health and Safety legislation.* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD* Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos* We will provide you access to a number of specialist design tools (including CAD, Revit, Robot and Tekla) to ensure projects are delivered to specification, with your existing knowledge of these or equivalent being essential.
