Team Leader (Children and Young Peoples Services) Location: Gateshead Salary: A GBP 13 per hour (A GBP 27,040 per annum) (Plus, On Call Allowance and Mileage) Have you got experience of working with children with disabilities or special educational needs? Have you worked as a support worker, childcare worker or teaching assistant? If yes, you could be the person theyre looking for Our client is a new childrens social care service launched earlier this year. The service is currently providing community based short break support for children with disabilities. The organisation is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced care worker or team leader to join their growing team. Based from the Gateshead Office. Mainly working Monday to Friday, some pre:planned weekend and evening work. The Role You will work with the Service Delivery Lead to: * Assess children and young peoples support needs.* Observe and shadow children at home and at school.* Write and review care plans and risk assessments.* Plan and communicate support rotas.* Induct, mentor and observe new staff.* Deliver support and introduce support workers to children and their families.* Provide on call, telephone support for staff delivering care. (On a rota basis) Skills and Experience They need someone who: * Loves working with children and families* Has a full UK driving license* Likes to be active and likes to work in different environments and with different people* Is confident with computers and using software like Excel, Word and Outlook* Is keen to develop and progress in their career* Is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people with disabilities Benefits * Fully paid DBS, induction training and ongoing training opportunities* Potential to complete up to Level 5 qualifications in health and social care* Enhanced company sickness pay* Provided with a company mobile telephone and laptop* Mileage paid* Flexible working available* Paid annual leave, minimum of 20 days plus 8 bank holidays.
