Our client a logistics and global trade management provider are looking for a Senior Shift Customs Clerk to join their team in Dover. This company operate 24/7 so you must be available to carry out 12 hours shifts rotating days and nights. Duties of the Senior Shift Customs Clerk: * Supervising a shift team in the absence of the shift supervisor* Ensuring all tasks assigned to the shift team are completed in a compliant manner* Completing the day to day customs clearance work* Assisting the customs clerks with completion of customs paperwork as required* Completing amendments and correspondence to customs* Completion of excise declarations* Assisting with other operational duties within the office at Managers discretion* You will be able assisting staff who have the following Responsibilities:* Advising Clients of cleared shipments* Assisting the senior clerks with completing the day to day road freight sea freight customs clearance work* Assisting the senior clerks with completing the booking and delivery operations of deep sea containers* Assisting with the completion/amendment of road freight bookings as required* Arranging the stamping of T2L documentation* Assisting with the completion of excise declaration* Dock running when required Skills required for the Senior Shift Customs Clerk: * Full knowledge of customs procedures and principles* Good understanding of Excel spreadsheets* Proficient with customs clearance software* IT Literate* Must be able to meet deadlines* Be conscientious and have attention to details* Be able to be part of a team* Must be able to identify and report problems* Communicate politely and efficiently with clients and internal staff The successful Senior Shift Customs Clerk will have strong operational know:how of customs clearance procedures and regulations. Youll be organised by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere, being able to work to deadlines.
