IT Technician Apprentice Level 3 Leamington & Alcester, Warwickshire You don’t need to go to university to kickstart your career! By using uCertify practice, learn and labs provided to you as part of your apprenticeship, you'll be able to prepare yourselves for the following exams: CompTIA A + (Exam 1 and 2) CompTIA Cloud Essentials + We are recruiting on behalf of Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy Company who have 17 schools across Warwickshire and Worcestershire, all part of the Diocese of Birmingham. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate: A logical approach to problem solving Excellent organisational skills Good communication skills when dealing with problems with staff and students Willingness to travel to other sites Ability to work well on your own and as part of a team Flexible, hardworking, punctual, and reliable The ability to quickly transfer skills to new pieces of software and hardware. Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths or equivalent Grade C/4 or above In return we offer:- A great team working environment Ongoing professional development A competitive apprenticeship salary £10.18 per hour Hours of work: 37 hours per week for 52 weeks per year (full time) Apprenticeship Duration: 15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment Essential: Desired Qualifications: An IT Apprentice is not expected to have undergone any formal training or hold qualifications for this role but some informal learning relevant to the role is desirable. Study towards and achieve the Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship standard Key Responsibilities Provide technical support to users both internal and external through a range of communication channels Install and configure relevant software and hardware as appropriate for example mobile apps, printers, projectors, scanners and cameras. Address IT issues by prioritising in line with the priority criteria as defined by the organisation Administer security access requirements and permissions for stakeholders escalating as necessary for example password resets Support the roll-out of upgrades or new systems or applications To provide first and second line IT and AV support services to end-users Configure, test, and deploy end-user devices including laptops, tablets, desktop PCs, phones, and printers. Ensure that all aspects of support processes are documented and kept up to date. Manage (create, amend, delete and report) user accounts on all education systems including m365, Active Directory and other learning and administrative school systems. Assist in the onboarding process of new starters, ensuring that all PCs, laptops, software, peripherals, accounts are working on the first day. Assist with the deployment of computers, including mobile devices to end-users Ensure all classrooms and equipment are maintained and in optimum working order. Provide administrative and project implementation support. To assist in the provision of school-wide systems and services. To maintain and support all school end-user devices and peripherals. Maintain the IT asset and configuration management databases. Ensure that end-user systems and services meet health and safety requirements. To provide instruction to end-users in the use of end-user IT and AV facilities and services Other To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the post, participating in appropriate activities To always support the Catholic ethos of the school/Multi-Academy Company by promoting the agreed vision and aims and setting an example of personal integrity and professionalism. To adhere to the MAC and School’s policies Other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post. Duties and responsibilities outside of the post will only be required with the agreement of the post holder. The training you'll be provided with: Comprehensive onboarding Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician, network technician, digital communications technician) Access to uCertify training platform; core learning materials, assessments, and practical hands-on-labs e-learning training materials Bi-weekly virtual classroom training on the CompTIA vendor qualifications Monthly work-based coaches visits and competency checks Primary Goal Support desk for technical support You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other! As a Primary Goalapprentice you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support.
