Gaia Talent is seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our client's expanding environmental team. Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in ecological consultancy and have a strong knowledge of wildlife policy and legislation. Minimum requirements: Relevant third level Degree (Level 8 or higher); A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience within the field of ecological consultancy; Knowledge of relevant wildlife policy and legislation, and its real-world application; Must be willing to work regular unsocial hours associated with bat survey work during the period April to October inclusive; Must be comfortable, where appropriate and safe to do so, with working within water bodies to carry out aquatic surveys; Largely working from our Galway office but willing to work in our Dublin, Cork, and Castlebar offices when required; Competent in the use of Microsoft Office; QGIS mapping skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; The following would be advantageous: Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM); Holder of a survey license for at least one European Protected Species; Experienced in aquatic monitoring, surveying, and reporting; Water framework sampling experience. Applicants should hold a full clean driver's license and a vehicle so they can travel for surveys.
