JOB DESCRIPTION TEMPLATE Role: Actuarial Data Analyst/Calculations Analyst Job Type: Permanent Location: Edinburgh/Telford (Onsite/Hybrid) • Are you an Analytics or Actuarial professional with experience in data analytics. • Hands on experience in analytics using Excel and SQL. • Excellent communication, & interpersonal skills. The Role • Be part of the global actuarial practice team. • Work closely with professionals from actuarial and business teams. • Work with customers from the Insurance Industry and identify opportunities to support their strategy and improve their processes across functions. Key responsibilities: • Analysis of the data on insurance products and support in calculations • Understand the product & calculation specifications and provide testing support • Run the SQL queries to get data for calculations and identify data related issues. • Involve in Control, Data, compliance testing and rates table update. • Write product specifications for insurance/pension products, understand and modify existing product specifications, if required • Perform manual calculations as per requirements of product specifications and get verified the results with output from Python • Collaborate with other teams to streamline calculations for effectiveness • Analysis and verification of results from Legacy system, BanCS and manual calculation • Presenting complex data in useful ways • Liaising with business users to make sure any output meets business needs Your Profile Key skills/knowledge/experience: • Strong experience in data analytics using Excel and SQL. • Ability to understand insurance calculations and prepare product & calculation specifications to be built on the new system • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working in insurance policy admin system • Understand the business requirements and deliver the outputs that meet them • Graduated in Engineering, Actuarial, Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or Economics. Good to have: • Experience in Actuarial analytics • Familiarity with UK pensions domain • Pass in any actuarial exam(s)
