JOB DESCRIPTION Salary : 110k Job Title: Solution Architect – Data platform and technologies WON/SWON: Reporting to: Location: London UK Department/Practice: Data Technologies Job Purpose and primary objectives: We are looking for an experienced Solution architect to help design and deliver different data solutions on Microsoft Azure public cloud. The successful candidate will not only be able to build innovative solutions on our modern data lake platforms but also help various product and engineering teams to deliver them to achieve highest standard delivery quality. The solutions should also adapt the principles of agile and dev-ops culture to drive the best business value. Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team): Key accountabilities and measures • Creative and collaborative approach to solution design in line with overarching strategy and vision. • Can work completely independently, without having to rely on other ream members to make progress or resolve blockers • Work with other solution architects to produce solution options and agree on most pragmatic solution. • Work with data engineers and software engineers to guide and mentor them on solution designs • Work with product owners and product managers to help them deliver on product roadmap • Provides coaching and mentoring to engineers and developers • Constantly looking at challenging the status quo, and improving our platform • Drives solution architecture and design conversations. Always speaks with confidence and is seen as a thought leader by the team • Actively seeks to work with the wider technology organization, engages in cross functional architecture and engineering forums and displays genuine interest to learn more about the big picture of our platforms • Consults business stakeholders on the best approach for delivering complicated features, both in how it can be split and sequenced, and in terms of potential improvement to the functional requirements • Naturally puts themselves forward for challenging tasks - Supervisory / Managerial responsibilities (please specify if the position will have persons reporting to it): - Other responsibilities – Budgets, targets, equipment etc (please specify): Key Skills/Knowledge: • Strong understanding and experience of modern datalake architectures and solution designs • Strong experience of working with Microsoft Azure public cloud for building and deploying datalakes and datawarhouse solutions. • Experience in Databricks, ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Python • Understanding and experience of data architectures including data modelling, data governance etc. • Knowledge and understanding of security design and principles in the context of data applications • Deep understanding of solution designs for various data science and machine learning applications and their lifecycles. This should include the entire lifecycle from build, train, validate, deploy and monitor. • Knowledge of building and deploying data applications as a service which includes model as a service, data as a service etc. • Experience of providing solutions for reporting, dashboarding and visualisations that can be either enterprise supported or self-service by the end user.
