Sybase/C++ Developer London/Glasgow, UK Job Type: Contract / FTC Job Description: ( Sybase / C++ developer ) - Work with business analysts/users to understand requirements. - Pre-analyze and estimate ballpark effort estimates for development tasks - Perform detailed technical analysis with impacts (technical/functional) server side and the database - Develop, test and provide support during implementation - Bug fixing & performance optimization (TSQL, stored procedures) - Own / develop expertise of the application and business area - Mentor and carry out code reviews of junior members on the team - Contribution to the project debriefs. - Strengthening of application knowledge of the offshore team - Overnight and Weekend Support as per rota. Skills Required - Excellent SQL skills - Good hands-on experience in writing and debugging Stored Procedures - Good exposure to Performance Tuning and best practices - Hands on experience on Sybase / SQL Server (SQL queries, Transact-SQL, stored procedures, functions and database modelling) - Basic knowledge on Unix and Shell scripts - Experienced on at least one programming language (C, C++)
