Teacher (Additional Support Needs)
Linn Moor Residential School is an independent Education & Care facility which caters for children and young people with complex needs, 5-eighteen years old (current roll: 9-eighteen years). We are seeking an Additional Support Needs (ASN) Teacher who is either GTCS-registered or alternatively looking to fulfil their probationary year within an ASN environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will join us in our creative and compassionate approach to learning following the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE); aimed at bringing out the very best in our children and young people and preparing them for a fulfilling adult life. As many of our youngsters have a diagnosis of autism and can display challenging behaviours you will engage with different communication and teaching tools (e.g. Makaton, PECs, Video Interaction Guidance & Intensive Interaction) as well as receive training in Behaviour Support Strategies (BSS). You will be expected to contribute to the teaching team as well as to the school & organisation on a wider scale. However, if you are interested in developing communication and interaction as well as engagement within the broader curriculum (CfE), you will fit very well within our team. This role would be suitable for someone looking for flexibility in their work on a part time basis (circa fourteen hours per week). If you are an experienced teaching professional with a passion for supporting children with additional support needs, we would love to hear from you.
