Brakes are the No. 1 Foodservice distributor in the United Kingdom and is continuingly expanding their national footprint
of distribution centres. Due to recent growth and the successful win of contracts, Brakes is opening a brand new 200,000
sq. ft. warehouse in Reading which will employ 500+ employees with a fleet of over 150 vehicles. Brakes has an immediate
requirement for a Site Engineer to establish and implement site facility plans. Reporting to the General Manager, the Site Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance of the entire distribution
centre facility through the facilities team and external contractors whilst ensuring costs meet the budgetary remit. The
Site Engineer will manage and review all site contracts and be aware that work must comply with company standards.
Managing the site facilities team, the Site Engineer will be responsible for site recovery plans, ensure all
environmental and safety initiatives are completed whilst becoming the key link into business continuity planning process
for the site. The Site Engineer will ensure the site's overall cost efficiency and the quality of service must contribute
to the Group's overall goals. The successful Site Engineer will have significant large site facilities management experience within a warehousing
environment; it would be an advantage if the successful candidate had previous operating experience of a
multi-temperature site. Strong communications skills are key and IT literacy is vital. L8 control of legionella would be
an advantage as would an understanding of the 17th edition wirings regs 2008 including HV & LV electrical systems albeit
