You'll be part of an industry-leading team, working with Marshall and other major defence stakeholders and Primes.The Senior Safety Engineer supports the Marshall Airworthiness Office through contribution to, and oversite of, all Engineering safety activities and documentation, sponsorship of all in-house design safety processes, safety engineering tools and templates, as well as providing safety engineering guidance and advice to the Marshall Engineering Team. Reporting to the Chief Engineer the Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for: * Promoting and upholding the company values and procedures and adhering to safety engineering best practices. * Supporting and improvement of the Company's safety culture * Effective communication with internal and external customers, including promoting the importance and benefits of safety engineering. * Advising the Chief Engineer and the wider engineering function of significant changes in safety regulation, guidance or Customer safety policies and procedures * Ensuring in-house safety engineering processes are current, effective and best support the overall Marshall engineering process. * Providing coaching and guidance in safety engineering processes, tools and techniques to the engineering function, including Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Particular Risk Assessment (PRA), Zonal Hazard Assessment (ZHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and delivery of a comprehensive safety argument to demonstrate achievement of the applicable safety objectives. * Generate, review, and approve safety engineering task estimates and be responsible for the delivery of the safety product to agreed time, budget, and resource. * Facilitating and leadership of System Safety Working Groups (SSWG) and supporting Safety Review Boards (SRB) to plan the safety approach, conduct appropriate safety processes, review safety activities and demonstrate the achievement of safety objectives and the associated mitigations. * Support the investigation of in-service safety incidents and follow on airworthiness recommendations where required. * Pro-actively review project and product safety documentation in line with project milestones to support the design lifecycle whilst ensuring project safety documentation is at the correct maturity for the review.The successful candidate should demonstrate the following: * A comprehensive knowledge in a range of safety engineering techniques, tools, and associated regulations and guidance, applicable to civil and military aerospace, including; * FHA, FTA, Common Cause Analysis (CCA), Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) * Windchill R&R / Fault Tree + (or equivalent), DOORS * CS/FAR25.1309, Def Stan 00-056/00-970, POEMS * SAE ARP 4761/4754, RTCA/DO-178/254/160, MIL-STD-882 * General safety and airworthiness approaches/processes * Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Ability to apply skills and knowledge across a diverse range of engineering projects and to produce accurate and detailed written reports within agreed timescales. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an energetic and enthusiastic approach * Evidence of involvement in team members development through coaching and guidance including delivery of safety training to project/product delivery teams * Demonstrable experience of product safety governance activities including design reviews * MSc or equivalent in System Safety Engineering (desirable) * Professional registration to IEng/CEng, or progress towards (desirable)Benefits:·Competitive salary, 27 days holiday increasing with service up to 30 days (option to buy /sell)·Pension contributions up to 9%, healthcare cash plan for you and your children, extensive flexible benefit program.·Marshall, an independent, family-owned British company, proudly helping our customers move forwards since 1909.About MarshallMarshall is an independent, family-owned UK company with a diverse portfolio of businesses and a shared commitment to keeping our customers moving forward.Whether that is supporting global armed forces to deliver mission-critical activities, keeping the UK distribution industry on the road, creating new sustainable communities where people can live and thrive, or developing the next generations of industry talent - we are incredibly proud to have been building extraordinary futures since 1909.Marshall Group is an Equal Opportunity EmployerMarshall Group is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse and inclusive workplace.#LI-SD1 #LI-Hybrid
