Principal CAD Engineer : Closure and Mechanisms : Coventry (Hybrid) : Up to A GBP 40/hr : Inside IR35 Do you have closure and mechanisms design experience, and are you seeking a new hybrid contract role in Coventry? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative automotive company recruit a Principal Engineer specialising in closures and mechanisms, and the role comes with a pay rate of A GBP 40 per hour. As a Principal Engineer, you will be working in both pre and post:vehicle programme KO phases and will take responsibility for technical delivery to cost, quality, and time for tasks and activities. During your first few weeks in this Principal Engineer role, you can expect to begin work on some of the following: * Support the APC, Lead Engineer, Body and Closures in all day:to:day activities* Engineering BoM development* Cost and weight pack development and weight BoM management* DFMEA and DVP creation and maintenance* Interface with cross functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA etc) and ,implement recommendations where appropriate to create a right first time release* Leading the development of the 3D and 2D models for closure and mechanism engineeringParticipate in cross functional integration reviews for components and systems, considering technical application, form, function and harmonisation of the executionDevelop timing plans and develop scope:of:work documents with key deliverables identified for this Principal Engineer : CAD Closure and Mechanisms position, you will need to be Degree qualified or similar qualification as a minimum. Additional qualifications include: * Ability to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts and schemes* Catia v5/v6 operative skills and demonstrate high technical competence* Experience in using TCUA (Team Centre) and PLM is preferable* Engineering experience in the delivery of the designated module systems in the automotive sector or similar industries* Evidence of engineering skills, including the ability to manage and resolve engineering issues* Understands roles and needs of different client groups.
