The Elgiva Theatre is at the heart of the arts in the Chilterns and is proud to spotlight a wide range of shows, films, comedians, musicians, produce a professional family pantomime and showcase the very best of local talent. We are looking for someone to help develop and support the theatre’s events programme and provide administrative support for the theatre as needed. The Programming and Administration Officer role is key to the successful delivery of the wide-ranging, high-quality programme of events and activities. Working closely with the Theatre Manager, they act as a point of contact for show promoters, hirers, film distributors and staff. They are always seeking opportunities to develop the events programme, and as part of this process, they coordinate the theatre’s cinema and exhibition programmes. Using the theatre event management system, they confirm bookings, issue contracts and ensure the necessary information is available to put the events on sale. The role also provides administrative support in the form of minutes taking, recruitment, training records and occasional box office cover when required. Excellent organisational skills are required to coordinate theatre bookings and special events. Previous administrative experience is necessary, preferably in a theatre/arts environment.
