Sous ChefLocation: Horta, Faial IslandSalary: €28,000 gross per annumAre you an experiencedSous Chef who speaks Portuguese and English, and do you live or are you looking to relocate to one of Azores beautiful islandsAs a Sous Chef, you will ensure that their high standards are met. We are working with this FANTASTIC boutique hotel that has been recognized with international and national awards not only for their location and service but also for providing their guests exceptional and unforgettable experiences with their excellent quality of rooms and food.What will you doSupports Executive sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily operations managementLeads the team in absence of his superiorsWhen necessary, manage autonomously one of the hotel’s kitchensInteract with clients in Portuguese or English, presenting dishes or show cookingParticipates in new or special menu’s elaborationSupports in HACCP system control and maintenancePerforms administrative tasks such as requisitions, inventories, technical filesHelp in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menusManage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performanceOrder supplies to stock inventory appropriatelyWho are youAt least 3 years of experience in similar jobTraining in cuisine / pastryExperience in restaurants or 5 hotelsProficiency in Portuguese and English necessaryPlanning and organization skillsAbility to train others and share knowledgeUnderstanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresExcellent record of kitchen and staff managementAccuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutionsBS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plusWhat’s in it for youPermanent contractRelocation expenses coveredopportunity to work in a boutique hotel with international and national awardsPlease send your application in english to XXXX@corecruitment.com
