We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newcastle to assist with the appointment of a Senior Facilities Engineer, on a 6 -month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £26.92 - £35.00 per hour Responsibilities: To manage all aspects of building, structures and engineering property-related matters, including scheme design, drawings, specification, contract administration and site supervision. To help to manage the Civil Parking Enforcement Service. To undertake routine CCTV system checks, maintenance and ad hoc requests and problems as may be required. To carry out the street naming and property numbering functions for all new developments and any requests for changes. To manage requests for all utility information. To lead on the maintenance/management of the car parks and street/footpath lighting. Qualification: Some knowledge of Engineering Structures design (Gabions, retaining walls, etc.) Knowledge of Street Works and similar Highways Acts Required Abilities: Ability to interface well with Senior Management, ability to help put together Cabinet Reports (Local Government) as well as Elected [Councillor] Members Ability to grasp Budgetary Control, Financial Requisitions placing and monitoring of Council Orders placed in order to see such fully matched and reconciled with incoming invoices from Suppliers/Contractors Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
