IFD Support Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a IFD Support Officer, on a 1- month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: £14.17 per Hour PAYE Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with those people who access or need the service, including children and families, members of the public, internal departments and professionals from other agencies. Manage an inbox with support from an Advanced Social Worker. Assess needs, risks and options taking into account legal and other requirements. Provide tailored information. Use knowledge, skills, and initiative to obtain comprehensive detail from referrers and pursue lines of enquiry to gather the most relevant information at the first point of contact. Establish effective working relationships with colleagues within Children's Social Care and partner agencies for example staff from police and/or health services, challenging existing practices and generating ideas and solutions. Remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to uphold standards of best practice. Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths (Grades 9-4 or A-C), or equivalent qualification or experience operating at this level of literacy and numeracy. Experience of providing advice and guidance to others. Experience and understanding of identifying a range of interventions in working with children and their families. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice. You should have right to work in U.K This role requires an enhanced DBS.
