CCTV and Community Alarm Supervisors (x2) £26,146 - £30,435 per annum + 5% night shift allowance.37 hours per week • PermenantAppletree Court, LyndhurstNew Forest District Council operates an in-house CCTV and Community Alarms Service based within a secure control room in Lyndhurst. The team is responsible for monitoring a network of 70 public space CCTV cameras and nearly 3000 Community Alarm connections, as well as performing other duties such as Out of Hours call handling and Lone Worker monitoring.The Service is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead the team through an exciting period, with an upcoming move to a new control room on the horizon. The successful candidate, alongside another Supervisor, will be responsible for a team of sixteen CCTV and Community Alarm Operators and supervise control room operations. Previous background in a supervisory or team leader capacity is essential, as you will take on a senior role within the team, directly line managing half of the operators and reporting directly to the Civil Contingencies and CCTV Manager.Leading by example, you will performance-manage the team, ensuring individuals and the team achieve and maintain expected standards. You will also be expected to fill-in / support the Civil Contingencies and CCTV Manager as required. This includes assisting with the Council’s Emergency Planning response.This role will work alongside another Supervisor on a four on / four off rota pattern, working a mixture of day (6am to 6pm) or night (6pm to 6am) shifts. You may be required to work at short notice to assist with cover ultimately ensuring that duties are staffed 24 hrs a day and occasionally will receive calls when not at work to support the team.Candidates should have superior verbal and written correspondence abilities, be well presented and have a professional and personable nature. The expertise to work calmly and effectively when dealing with emergency situations, viewing particularly distressing pictures or dealing with vulnerable and distressed adults over the phone or in person is also essential. A high-level of IT skills is necessary as the work involves using the CCTV and Community Alarms software and equipment, as well as Ms office.Furthermore, you must have a clean drivers licence and use of a car for carrying out home visits.Due to the highly sensitive and confidential nature of the work, you will undergo enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service clearance. Expertise, aptitude and/or personality tests will be carried out as part of the selection process.A Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is preferable, but not essential and full training and accreditation will be given, if required.What we can offer in return is a great place to work and a great team to work with.
